Survey Says Nevada Ranks second for Small Business Nevada ranks second-best in the national for small business and entrepreneurship in a recent survey of key factors that drive commerce. The Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council's “Small Business Survival Index 2007” says Nevada's lack of personal and corporate income or capital gains taxes as well as being a right-to-work state reflect the high ranking. The report can be found at www.sbecouncil.org.
Nevada entrepreneurs pay no income, capital gains or estate or inheritance taxes. “There's a lot going for Nevada,” says Kerrigan of the SBE Council, including good location, a strong retiree base, an aggressive outreach program for economic development.
